How to Add Languages to Your Shopify Store?

Follow the instructions below to set up store languages.

Step 1: Access Shopify Admin

Log in to your Shopify Admin account.

Step 2: Navigate to Language Settings

Go to SettingsLanguages.

Step 3: Add a Language

  • Click the Add language button

  • Select the language you want to add

  • Click Add

  • Once added, the selected language will appear under Unpublished languages

Step 4: Create Translations

  • Find the language you just added and click Translate.

  • Choose an app you want to use for creating translations.

  • If you don’t have a translation app, install one from the Shopify App Store.

Step 5: Publish the Language

After successfully creating translations:

  • Click the three-dot icon next to the language.

  • Select Publish to make the language live on your store.

Step 6: Verify on Your Online Store

  • Open your online store.

  • Store language
  • Select the newly added language to verify that it displays correctly.

Notes

  • The language selector is usually located in the Header or Footer of your online store.
