How are classic and new customer accounts different in BLOY Loyalty?

Compared to the Classic Customer Account method which requires shoppers to enter their password, the New Customer Account method simplifies this process by sending them a 6-digit code via email every time they attempt to log in.

You can change the login method by navigating to Settings > Customer accounts > Login links section.

Regardless of the login method chosen, customers listed in the Customers table of your Shopify Admin are considered to have completed the Sign up earning action and will earn points. The distinction between the two login methods lies in their status within the BLOY Loyalty's Customers table:

  • Customers who have only filled out their information on the checkout page without creating an account are marked as Guest.

  • Customers who have created an account using the Classic customer account method are marked as Member.

  • Customers who have created an account using the New customer account method are also marked as Guest.
