Set Up Quote Visibility

This page explains how to define who can request a quote and where the quote option appears. These settings are configured in the Set Up Quote Visibility tab of your quote logic.

1. Overview

The Visibility settings control the core pillars of your Quote Logic:

  1. Store Type: Whether this applies to standard customers (Default store) or Shopify B2B companies (B2B store).

  2. Identity: The internal name and priority.

  3. Customer Scope: Which specific buyers see the quote options.

  4. Product Scope: Which items display an "Add to Quote" button.

2. Select Store Type

When you first create a logic, you must choose between two types. This choice determines which features are available.

Key Differences

Default Store

Retail (DTC) or Standard Wholesale.

Use this for customers who log in with a standard email and password.

You can setup visibility by Customer Tags and Specific Products/Collections.

B2B Store

Shopify Plus B2B Companies.

Use this if you use Shopify's "Companies" and "Locations" features.

You target B2B Companies. The product list is automatically determined by the B2B Catalog assigned to that company in Shopify.

Note: The "B2B Store" option is only available if your store is on Shopify Plus.

3. General Information

Use this section to define the basic identity and behavior of the logic.

3.1. Name & Status

  • Logic Name: Enter an internal name (e.g., "VIP Customers – Custom Items"). Choose a name that helps you instantly recognize the audience.

  • Status:

    • Active: The logic is live on your store.

    • Inactive: The logic is saved but disabled. Use this to draft logics without publishing them.

3.2. Priority

This setting determines which logic wins if a customer matches more than one.

  • 0 = Highest Priority (Evaluated first).

  • 99 = Lowest Priority.

Example:

  • Logic A (Priority 10): "VIP RFQ" (Offers a custom form).

  • Logic B (Priority 50): "Global RFQ" (Offers a basic form).

  • If a VIP customer visits, Logic A applies because 10 is higher priority (lower number) than 50.

4. Who Can Request a Quote?

Define exactly which visitors see the quote button based on your Store Type.

For "Default Store" Logics:

  • All customers: Everyone (including guests) can request a quote.

  • Logged-in customers: Only customers who are signed in.

  • Customer tags: The most common method. Target customers with tags like "wholesale" or "vip".

  • Specific customers: Select individual customer accounts.

For "B2B Store" Logics:

  • All B2B Companies: Applies to every B2B company in your system.

  • Specific B2B Companies/Locations: Select specific companies (e.g., "Acme Corp") or specific locations (e.g., "Acme Corp - NY Branch").

  • B2B Customer Tags: Target companies based on tags assigned to them in Shopify.

5. Which Products Can Be Quoted?

Applies to "Default Store" logics only.

Decide where the "Add to Quote" button appears in your catalog.

  • All products: Every item in your store becomes quote-eligible.

  • Specific products: Select individual items manually.

  • Product collections: Apply the logic to entire selected collections (e.g., "Wholesale Only").

  • Product tags: Target products dynamically using tags like "quote_only".

Note: If you selected "B2B Store" as the Logic type, this section is hidden. B2B logics automatically respect the Catalogs you have assigned to your companies in Shopify Admin.

By combining these options, you can open RFQ to all users, restrict it to B2B, or target very specific accounts.

6. Summary

A summary box shows a quick recap of your quote logic:

  • Name & Type - internal ID and Store Type.

  • Status: reflect the current logic's status

  • Priority – execution order vs other logics

  • Customers – who can see the quote form

  • Products – where the quote button appears

  • Created Date – when the logic was created

Use this summary to double-check that the logic matches your original intention before saving.
