Whatβs the difference between Countdown Timer and Schedule Time?
When you use a countdown timer banner, youβll notice two separate settings: β± Countdown and π Schedule
At first glance, it might be confusing since both settings involve time β but in fact, one controls the countdown timer inside the banner, while the other determines when the entire banner is shown.
β‘οΈ Countdown
β Controls the timer display inside the banner. For example, you can set it to count down from 30 minutes.

You can:
Set a specific end time for countdown (e.g. April 16, 2025 β 03:00 AM)
Choose what happens when the countdown ends: show 00:00:00, or hide the banner
Use different countdown types:
To a specific date/time
Run daily at a specific time (e.g. daily from 2 PM to 3 PM)
Run in certain interval (e.g. start on a specific day, count down for 30 minutes, pause for 30 minutes, then automatically restart the next countdown cycle)
π§ Think of this as the visual countdown to create urgency.
β‘οΈ Schedule
β Controls when the banner is shown on your store. For example, you can pre-schedule your banner to automatically appear during BFCM week β so you donβt have to manually enable it on the day, which can be easy to forget.

You can:
Set start & end time for the banner visibility
Limit display to specific days or time ranges (e.g. 2PMβ4PM, MonβWed only)
Use for campaign-based banners (e.g. only show during BFCM week)
π§ Think of this as when the banner is visible to customers.
π§ͺ Example: BFCM campaign setup
β Goal: Show a banner during BFCM (Nov 24β30), and run a 30-minute countdown each day from 2:00β2:30 PM.
β β± Countdown settings:
Countdown type: Run daily
From 02:00 PM to 02:30 PM
Action after countdown ends: Show 00:00:00 (or choose Hide banner if you want the banner to disappear after finishing countdown)
β π Schedule settings:
Start time: Nov 24, 2025 β 12:00 AM
End time: Nov 30, 2025 β 23:59 PM

Result: Every day from 2β2:30 PM during BFCM, shoppers will see the banner with a live 30-minute countdown β creating urgency and encouraging quick action.
π‘ Tip: To show the countdown banner only on specific days (instead of daily), enable the "Display in fixed time range" option under the Schedule settings.
