How to set up Advanced option settings?

In addition to General information of Option type, you can set the advanced settings to specify your products. Learn more about them from the instructions below:

  1. Required field:

● When you choose Yes, that field will be required to fill in.

Here is an example of how it looks like in your storefront:

● If your customers do not fill in this field and click on Add to Cart, a message will inform them that this field is required. Here is an example of how it looks like in your storefront:

● If you set it as a not required field, your customers can Add product to cart without filling in it.

  1. Placeholder text:

For Text input type and Date & Time picker, you can set up Placeholder text to give your customers a clear example of what should be filled in the field.

  1. Default value and Default option text:

● For Text input, Swatch, and Choice list type, you can set the Default value, which will display automatically in the field when customers go to the product page.

For example, you set the default value for Swatch option as Beige

● Default option text is default as -- Please select-- and only available for Dropdown menu option type.

Here is an example of how it looks like in your storefront:

  1. Help text:

● Help text can be displayed as Tooltip or Content.

● It is available for all option types except Instruction.

Once you set it to display as Content, you can choose its position as: Below the option title, Beside the option title, or Below all options.

  1. Min/Max (characters, value, selectors):

● For Textbox and Text area options, you can set the minimum characters and maximum characters that your customers can input.

If your customers input more than the maximum characters, a message will inform them of max characters.

● For Number field option type, you can set the minimum value and maximum value that customers can input.

Here is an example of how it looks like in your storefront:

If your customers input more than the maximum value, a message will inform them of max value.

● For Checkbox, Swatch, and Button options, you can set the minimum selectors and maximum selectors that customers can select. Max selectors are default as 1.

Here is an example of how it looks like in your storefront:

If your customers select more than the maximum selectors, a message will inform them of max selectors.

  1. Option display inline:

● For Button, Swatch, Radio button, and Checkbox, you can set if you want options to display inline.

● If you tick on the Option display inline, your options can display in one line, depending on the size of each option or your customers’ screen.

● If you untick the Option display inline, each of your options will display in a separate line.
