Customer Quote History
This feature gives your logged-in customers a dedicated portal inside their account area to view, track, and manage their quote requests. Instead of emailing you for updates, they can check the status themselves.
1. How to Enable
Here are the steps to set up:
Go to Online Store → Themes.
Click Customize next to your live theme.
In the top dropdown menu, select "Checkout and Customer accounts" -> Account.
Look for the "Apps" section on the sidebar.
Select "BSS Quote List" and add page to "Accounts"
Add "BSS Quote List" to the menu bar
Save your changes.
Once enabled, a "My Quotes" link or tab will appear in the customer's account dashboard.
2. The Customer Experience
Here is what your B2B buyers will see when they log in.
2.1. The Quote List
This is the main overview page. It lists every request the customer has made, sorted by newest first.
Quote ID: The reference number (e.g., #1001).
Date: When the request was submitted.
Status: The current progress of the deal (e.g., Under Review, Converted).
2.2. Quote Details
Clicking on a specific quote opens the full details view:
Header: Quote ID, Status, and Date.
Shipping Info: The address and details provided during the request.
Product Table: A list of items, variants, and requested quantities.
Payment Terms (B2B Only): If you are using Shopify B2B, payment terms (e.g., Net 30) will appear here once the quote is finalized.
3. Price Visibility Logic
A common concern for merchants is: "Can customers see my internal pricing before I'm ready?"
The answer is No. The system protects your negotiation process with strict visibility rules:
Quote Status
What the Customer Sees
Unread/ Under Review
Prices are HIDDEN.
The customer sees the products and quantities they asked for, but the "Price" column and "Total" are hidden or show as "Pending".
Proposal Sent / Converted
Prices are VISIBLE.
Once you click "Send Proposal" or convert the quote to an Order, the negotiated prices, shipping costs, and tax totals become visible to the customer.
3. Best Practices
Encourage Logins: Make sure your B2B customers know they must log in to track their quotes. Guest users cannot access history.
Use Statuses: Keep your quotes updated in the admin (changing status from Unread to Under Review). This reassures customers that you are working on their request when they check their dashboard.
