Displaying Labels Across Time Zones – UTC Setup
Detailed Guide to Time Zone Conversion for Using the Label App
1. How Label Timing Works
The Start Time / End Time set in the app is based on UTC (Coordinated Universal Time, UTC+0).
When the specified UTC time is reached, the label is displayed simultaneously across all stores globally, regardless of the store’s or user’s local timezone.
2. What Is UTC?
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the world’s standard time, which does not change with daylight saving and is not location-dependent.
→ You can think of it as the global server time.
3. How to Set the Right Time
Example scenario:
You want the label to appear at 12:00 AM on May 25th in Malaysia (UTC+8).
→ Convert to UTC: 12:00 AM - 8 hours = 4:00 PM on May 24th (UTC)
→ What to enter in the app: 4:00 PM on May 24th (UTC)
Conversion formula:
Time to enter in app = Desired local time – time difference from UTC
4. Timezone Conversion Tool
How to use it:
Add the UTC timezone.
Add the local timezone, e.g., Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur).
When you match your target time, 12:00 AM on May 25th, with UTC, you’ll find it equals 4:00 PM on May 24th (UTC).
