# How to Exempt Tax for Non-Registered VAT Customers

There are **three approaches** to exempt tax for customers who are not registered for VAT. Depending on your workflow, you can apply it **manually for individual customers** or **automatically for all approved customers**.

***

### 🧩 **Approach 1: Manually Exempt via App Admin**

1. From the app’s admin page, go to **Wholesaler Registration Form**.
2. Click **Registration Management** and **edit** the customer you want to update.
3. In the **Approve/Reject Customer Account** section, locate the **Tax Exempt** checkbox.
4. ✅ Tick this checkbox.
5. Click **Save** to apply the change.

***

### ⚙️ **Approach 2: Manually Exempt via Shopify Admin**

1. Go to **Shopify Admin → Customers**.
2. Edit the customer record.
3. Under **Manage Tax**, uncheck **Collecting tax**.
4. Click **Save** to apply the update.

***

### 🤖 **Approach 3: Automatically Exempt via Registration Form**

1. From the app’s admin page, go to **Wholesaler Registration Form**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs-shpf.bsscommerce.com/b2b-wholesale-solution/use-cases-and-faqs/usecases/how-to-exempt-tax-for-non-registered-vat-customers.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
